  THE MUSIC
Capoeira is one of the rarer martial arts, in being totally dependant on music to control the pace and tempo of the game. The main musical instrument of Capoeira is a single string bow about 1.5 metres long with a gourd attached to act as a soundbox. The sound of the Berimbau is produced by hitting the string and pressing a stone or coin against the string as it is struck. he other instruments comprise mainly of , The Pandeiro (or tambourine) , and the Atabaque (drums). The intensity, speed and structure of the game is dictated, in conjunction with the drums, by the rhythm of the the Berimbau .The Capoerist moves to the rhythm and as the tempo increases so does the pace of the game.
